PRIVACY POLICY

Following is a brief overview of my own personal policy on the collection and storage of data and personal information.

Why do I collect and store personal in formation about you during the course of my business?

1) The primary reason that I, as a real estate agent, collect and store information about a member of the public is to be able to maintain contact with you on a casual ongoing basis. In most cases, it is to stay in contact after a real estate transaction has taken place by way of periodic mail or telephone contact to ensure a good after-sale follow up and to establish a good agent-client relationship. This may include the mailing of industry newsletters or market updates, or just well wishes so as to maintain a good rapport in the hopes of securing future business and/or referrals.

2) Agents also have to maintain records of their real estate transactions and may be required to pass said information on to third parties procured by the client in the course of dealing on a real estate transaction. These may be your mortgage lender, lawyer, or home inspector. Your personal information would only be forwarded to these third parties with your knowledge and consent.

What kind of information do I store?

The primary information that I collect and store are details like name, address, phone number, and email address. Secondary information may include dates when a person bought or sold a home, purchase price or sale price, and anniversary of possession date.

What do I do with the information that is stored?

Very little except to keep it up to date and use it to maintain ongoing contact with the client or potential client.

When do I share this information?

Virtually never. Information stored on my database is for my personal use and is never shared or distributed with other members of real estate industry or of any other industry either, unless consented to by the individual whose information is stored. The only exception is when a court order or subpoena requires me.

How do I protect information stored on my data base?

All the information stored on my database is password protected on my personal computer and is viewed only by myself or my personal assistants during the daily course of business. In short, any information that I have about you stays with me alone and you can ask to be removed from my database at anytime.
